Are you a veteran considering applying for a Maine Professional license? Your military training may help!
The Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation will consider military training when reviewing applications. This means you may not have to complete certain required training programs.
Active service members can also use their ongoing military training to qualify for the continuing training that some licenses require.
Veterans with licenses from other states may also qualify for a temporary license. Temporary licenses last until the veteran gets a permanent license or until the license from the previous state expires.
Veteran Priority
Veterans or Gold Star Spouses are given priority when applying for professional licenses. This includes applications for temporary and permanent licenses. Make sure to identify on your application if you are either a veteran or Gold Star Spouse. You are required to provide proof of your status. You may do so by providing either a copy of your DD 214 or DD 1300.
