Throughout Maine, organizations offer parent education classes and workshops that attempt
to educate families about the impact of separation and divorce on children. These
organizations can serve as a resource for parents, children, GALs, lawyers and mental
health professionals. Given the focus of these organizations on the needs of children
during separation and divorce, referral to these agencies can be an important tool for
a GAL.
