Appealing Discharges from Nursing Facilites

Legal Services for the Elderly can help you or your loved one in appealing an involuntary discharge from a nursing or residential care facility. You should call our Helpline 1-800-750-5353 immediately for Legal Assistance if:

  • You have received a letter from the facility where you live notifying you that you are no longer welcome to stay at the facility.
  • You have been notified by a social worker or other staff at the facility that a discharge notice is imminent or forthcoming.

It is important to note that in these cases you may have as little as five (5) days to appeal the action taken by the facility, so be sure to call immediately!
