Are There Cases We Never Take?

Yes. We only provide legal advice and assistance in civil matters that affect low-income children in Maine when a court appointed or private attorney is not available. Although there are some exceptions, we will not represent children in juvenile proceedings (i.e, criminal charges in court) or emancipation hearings. This is because the Court will appoint a low income juvenile with a court appointed attorney in these types of cases. We do not take traffic cases. We do not take "big money" cases like personal injury, medical malpractice, etc. You can go to a private attorney in those types of cases.
