Several things have changed.
First, Maine has adopted new Child Support Guidelines.
This updates the dollar amounts that are used
to calculate a child support order.
Pine Tree used its own funds
to quickly update the newest Court forms for your use. Please consider making a secure online donation now.
Your support will assure that we can continue providing this service. We will acknowledge your contribution promptly. Thank you. |
Second, we have posted a
"HotDocs" version of the
Child Support Worksheet.
To use this new online tool, you will visit the national
legal services forms preparation website. There you answer a series of questions. Then you print your completed form. You do not need to register, log in or
save your data. You can chose to "go directly to the form." However if you do register and save your data, you can return
later to use the same data or change it. The data will not be available to anyone but you. This tool requires use of Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.
Go to HotDocs form tool.
If your web browser cannot access the HotDocs tool, or you prefer, you can still use our older
self-calcualting .pdf form, which has also been updated.
February 2009 version (including bi-weekly pay option) is now posted; sorry for the delay.
Finally, we post information to help you fill out a Child Support Worksheet by hand. We do not recommend this method because the math
is complicated and prone to error. But it can help you understand the math better - if you're interested in how it works - and it keeps our
programmers honest. Do the math yourself
You can still get the old interactive forms here:
Old Child Support Worksheet
Old Supplemental Child Support Worksheet (for parents
who provide "substantially equal care")
Old Child Support Guidelines
View list of all court forms
However, be aware that, after Dec. 1, 2008, DHHS and the Courts will be using the new Guidelines. These
old interactive forms use the old Guidelines.
